Physical Background
Ligths / Optics / Chromatics / Basic Terms of photography
This chapter introduces the most important tool in photography, the LIGHT and its properties. Light can also be broken down into its colour components, but it is worthwhile to understand the photographic use of colour, the complexity of colours and how it is represented by our tools. Light is introduced to our image sensors through our lenses, which are quite complex systems and the process of creating images from them will be essential for anyone involved in photography. Beyond all this, it is necessary to know the meaning of the content of our basic photographic terms, the "language" of photography. Therefore, we will introduce "shutter speed", "aperture", "ISO", "white balance" and more complicated terms such as "depth of field", "exposure" and the magic "histogram".
